Design District Helsinki’s classic map is now available in a refreshed edition. This year’s most significant update is the expansion of the map area to include Kallio, extending all the way to Helsinginkatu. At the same time, the member categories have been updated to better reflect contemporary needs. A new category, Care & Repair, has been introduced to highlight the growing importance of maintenance services, repair culture, and sustainable consumption.
The launch of the new map was celebrated in a relaxed and inspiring atmosphere at a members’ afterwork gathering. Warm thanks to our event partners: Helsinki Distilling Company for the beverage collaboration and Paja&Bureau for providing their unique venue.
With a print run of 20,000 copies, the map will be distributed widely throughout the city. In addition to members’ own locations, it will be available at Helsinki Tourist Information, hotels in the city centre, and key design-related events. This ensures that the map reaches both local residents and international design enthusiasts.
The 2026 edition features 131 brick-and-mortar businesses representing a broad and inspiring selection of interior design, fashion, accessories, jewellery, vintage, care and repair services, local craftsmanship, art, museums, restaurants, and hotels. Together, they reflect Helsinki’s unique creative scene and its diverse design-driven urban culture.
The Design District Helsinki map invites visitors and residents alike to explore the city through fresh eyes—to discover hidden gems, revisit favourite places, and experience design in both everyday life and special moments.
Wishing you a wonderful summer in the unique city of Helsinki.
