Design District Helsinki’s network is broadening and becoming ever more versatile. This year, new companies have joined in from the fields of interior design, food as well as fashion and hotels. The selection offered by Design District has lately expanded especially through new shops and players emerging to the area, like Costo concept store on Yrjönkatu, jewelry shop Coruya on Korkeavuorenkatu and Hotel Lilla Roberts on Pieni Roobertinkatu.
The latest additions to the network are Ritva Falla Shop, Out of the Dark and Hello Darling eatery – all from different corners of the design spectrum.
Ritva Falla is a long-term Finnish fashion designer, known especially from her outfits designed especially for Mrs. Tarja Halonen, Finland’s former president. The women’s clothing collection and shop carry the designer’s name. From Ritva Falla Shop on Kasarmikatu 12 you will find timeless, high-quality clothing and professional styling tips for adult women.
Out of the Dark is a gallery-like concept store of top class design, located on Eerikinkatu. The space was formerly known as the home of a famous fashion concept store Helsinki10, and this history is still honoured with wall paintings. The product selection of Out of the Dark combines Finnish and international design brands from interior to fashion design, creating a coherent, stylish and youthful outcome.
If Out of the Dark gives you international vibes, the new and cozy eatery Hello Darling on Iso Roobertinkatu will surely do so, too. The menu created by the New Zealander – Italian – Canadian – founder team is boldly multicultural, tasty and easygoing. We recommend as a relaxed dinner place – also try the already popular weekend brunch, but a table reservation is recommended.
