Arela Spring-Summer 2015 collection “The Sheltering Sun” has arrived to our stores.
With “The Sheltering Sun” we imagined ourselves spending a sultry summer afternoon idly in a Mediterranean town. The balmy, sleepy atmosphere of late summer is reflected in the toasted colours and refined shapes of the collection. The designs borrow their recurring rectangular shape from the whitewashed houses on Greek islands and mediterranean floor tiles. Daydreams and delusions caused by the rippling of hot air in the sweltering heat are echoed in the sheerness of the lightest knits and in eye deceiving design features.
Materials of the collection are light summer cashmere and cotton pique. The designs are simple, matchable separates and easy dresses. The base of the colour palette consists of soft pebble grey, black and white. Pale pink and blue freshen the palette. In this collection, we are also introducing our first prints: a series of understated, asymmetrical wide brush strokes.
