Design Museum Helsinki celebrates its 150th Anniversary! There are three exhibitions available. The Collections Exhibition is Utopia Now – The Story of Finnish Design. The Collections Exhibition presents the integral role of design in developing the Finnish welfare state. The main exhibition for the summer season Kustaa Saksi: In the borderlands is available from 5 May to 15 October 2023, and the gallery exhibition Tauko Paus Pause by the Graphic Designer of the Year 2023 Tomi Leppänen is available from 24 March to 27 August 2023.

Design Museum Helsinki also hosts lovely Design Café Taito (lunch available every day), and Design Shop.

Design Museum Helsinki is a National Special Museum in Finland that selects and maintains a design collection. The museum is responsible for research and documentation in its field, and for holding exhibitions on design history and contemporary design. The museum also organizes international touring exhibitions on Finnish art and design.

Design Museum Helsinki was founded in 1873 as a study collection for the arts and crafts school. It has operated on its current premises since 1978. The museum building was designed in 1894 by Architect Gustaf Nyström. In 1989, the Foundation of the Museum of Art and Design was established to support the activities of the Design Museum.
