Methods of Making Fashion
–What does it actually take to make a garment? Methods of Making Fashion is an interactive workshop and one-night exhibition by Fashion Community Helsinki that opens up the creative processes behind contemporary fashion design. The event is part of the programme of Fashion in Helsinki, taking place on 26–30 May 2026.
With three designers – Henna Lampinen, Sini-Pilvi Kiilunen and Susanna Saarikko – and three distinct working methods, visitors are invited to explore how ideas evolve into garments through experimentation, construction, and decoration.
The designers are present throughout the event, guiding visitors through their creative processes and inviting them to participate hands-on. By combining fashion, process, and participation, the exhibition makes fashion design visible, accessible, and experiential.
