Workshops inspire and guide children and their adults to craft and experience architecture and design together. The workshops give ideas for observing your own environment and for your own creative work on design. The workshops are organized once a month on Saturdays.

The nonstop workshops draw their inspiration from the main exhibition Garden Futures: Designing with Nature, where garden design is introduced.

The workshop takes place on a non-stop basis, meaning you can jump in at any time. The workshop can accommodate 20 participants at a time. The workshop languages are Finnish and English, and the workshop instructors of the Architecture Museum and the Design Museum are responsible for the guidance. The workshop is intended for everyone and does not require special skills. Recommended for over 6 years old, under 10 years old only when accompanied by an adult.

Garden Talks: The Future of Home Garden Food Cultivation
At 6–6:45 p.m. in the Design Museum auditorium
Advance registration

Organic gardening challenges modern people: instead of actively doing things and making quick profits, the role of an observer is offered, and meaningful rewards and surprises slowly develop before the eyes. Not doing anything and outright laziness also require tenacity. Caring for a garden extends beyond one’s own cultivation box: it offers opportunities for the surrounding environment, fauna and the entire ecosystem.

Today’s choices define the garden of tomorrow. Come and hear how the garden will be taken over in 2024. No miracles or sweaty work, but simple and enjoyable things to do!

Lea Rauta is Pihailo’s educational garden designer and gardener, who spreads the message of gardening by lowering the bar of the hobby and bringing joy, ease and meaning to gardening. “Nature belongs to everyone – improving the quality of life and everyday life through green means is possible for everyone. The balance of beauty, functionality and durability is important in the garden, and in life in general!” The event is in Finnish.

Event produced together with Kekkilä and Fiskars
