Design District Helsinki has joined We Speak Gay community in order to support and encourage LGBTQIA+ travellers to find their way to Helsinki. The community was founded 2018 to increase communication and awareness around the topic of LGBTQIA+ inclusive travels and safe destinations in Finland.
Why?
In every 3rd country of the world (69 countries) homosexuality is still criminalised and in most countries it is not socially acceptable. Therefore LGBTQIA+ people often face discrimination or other questionable treatment while traveling. They must choose their destinations very carefully in order to feel safe. Through clear and efficient communication we can help all travellers feel safe and welcome.
