Hiltunen’s artistic career background is within the sphere of visual arts, printmaking (MFA) and pattern design. Personification of artwork’s context is displayed characteristically in Hiltunen’s art practice. Subtly handcrafted figurative paintings on paper, which she occasionally recreates into collages and fine art print series.
The role of design is in strong synergy with art in Hiltunen’s art-based surface pattern and product design. The design collection is trademarked with own name signature-logo and highlighted from the handprint of her art, conveying an innovative and polished design language. The patterns are uniquely figurative or geometrical shapes with rich colours, detailed and layered images. Brand focuses on local, ethical and sustainable manufacturing processes within Europe, priding in high standards and meticulous attention to detail.
The brand is promoted together with a CanCan-logo illustrating scissor-dancers. This reflects Hiltunen’s CanCan-ethos: all things are possible.
