The Helsingin Sanomat Foundation is a private, non-profit organization. The Foundation awards grants for research and maintains the Päivälehti Archives and the Päivälehti Museum.
The Foundation is dedicated to promoting and financially supporting high-level research and the implementation of freedom of speech. Grants are given for media research projects, media innovation competitions and further education for journalists.
The Päivälehti Archives and the Päivälehti Museum are located in central Helsinki, in the historical Helsingin Sanomat newspaper headquarters building. Both of them document and showcase the Sanoma company’s media historical heritage, which is now increasingly accessible online.
